Kenneth (who likes to call himself Kay) begins to realise he‘s just another wannabe bad boy… even less than a loser in fact. After quitting his job at Laimsbury‘s, Kay vows to become a respected gangster… or cry trying. A pulls–no–punches, coming–of–age story, centering on one directionless hopeless "shotter", who finds his true worth in the face of urban adversity.

Season of the Witch stars Nicolas Cage (National Treasure, Ghost Rider), Ron Perlman (Hellboy, “Sons of Anarchy”), Stephen Campbell Moore (The Bank Job, History Boys), Claire Foy (“Going Postal,” “Little Dorrit”), Stephen Graham (“Boardwalk Empire,” Public Enemies), Ulrich Thomsen (Centurion, The International), Robert Sheehan (Cherrybomb, ‘Misfits’) and Christopher Lee (The Lord of the Rings, Alice in Wonderland). The film is directed by Dominic Sena (Gone in Sixty Seconds, Swordfish)

Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage (National Treasure, Ghost Rider) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Hellboy II, Sons of Anarchy) star in this supernatural action adventure about a heroic Crusader and his closest friend who return home after decades of fierce fighting, only to find their world destroyed by the Plague. The church elders, convinced that a girl accused of being a witch is responsible for the devastation, command the two to transport the strange girl to a remote monastery where monks will perform an ancient ritual to rid the land of her curse. They embark on a harrowing, action-filled journey that will test their strength and courage as they discover the girl’s dark secret and find themselves battling a terrifyingly powerful force that will determine the fate of the world.

This film had me hooked from the first scene (which scared me by the way).  If you are the type of person who jumps during films get ready to hold on to your seat a few times.  I didn’t feel that Nicholas Cage was believable as the lead hard man, for me his portrayal of the character had energy but lacked depth! I liked Ron Perlman’s as his sidekick; he just has a presence about him period.

Plenty of realist battle scenes all the way through the movie with a few comedy lines. I loved the way the film separated the Church from God, meaning there are some people who are believers but not feel that they can serve one without the other!

To sum up this movie I would say that it is a little scary, action packed, gripping, and sensational; jaw dropping; but that was mainly because of the fantastic locations of where the story was filmed and scenes within the film more so then the acting.

Not normally my type of film but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

SINGLES + ALBUMS

WILL.I.AM FT NICKI MINAJ – CHECK IT OUT

This track being dropped over the 80's track by Buggles actually saves it lol. I like it *smile*

DEBI NOVA – DRUMMER BOY

Although not my usual cup of tea its a fun tune

K’NAAN FT ADAM LEVINE – BANG BANG

Wickedly, lively, track. Adam Levine and K'naan fan. It it a catching tune that you can't help bopping too.

FLO-RIDA – CLUB CAN’T HANDLE ME

Will be requested at the Christmas parties but it is just an average track with a repetitive beat

NE-YO – BEAUTIFUL MONSTER

Not my kind of track but one I know will be requested at the Christmas gigs!!!

AIN'T NO DOUBT ABOUT IT -

The Game Ft Justin Timberlake

The beat kind of has a Stevie Wonder feel to it. I like the way Justin sounds on it. I look forward to playing it to my listeners.

THE GAME

Title: It must be me feat. Pharrell

This to me is an average tune! The lyrics are boring and dated: people want to hear intelligent lyrics not old stories. Going to see what my listeners think of it

N.E.R.D

Title: Hot N' Fun Feat. Nelly Furtado

Oh yes, feeling this, love N.E.R.D. looking forward to rolling this one out of my show. The beat is nice and catching and there voices suit to a tee.

POPSTAR - FOLLOW THE CITY

Don't like this at all!!! Sounds like noise and not good noise. Crap lyrics. Sounds like someone did it for a joke.

NOT AFRAID - EMINEM

Another Eminem smash. Love the intensity of his lyrics.

EVERYDAY- Killa Kela Ft Tinie Tempah

I'm a little confused with this track. I know Killa Kella as a beatbox so if he did all the instrument sounds on this one WOW! If it is just him singing on it I will listen to it a few more times because it feels like a grower.

KANYE WEST - POWER

This track enhances what people have been saying about Drake's style sounded a lot like Kanye's. I like music, would be interesting to see the video for it.

LIKE THE WAY YOU LIE -

Eminem Ft Rhianna

Rhianna's vocal sounds pretty good on this track. Glad to hear new stuff from Em.

INCOGNITO - TRANSATLANTIC RPM

Dome records release a 30th anniversary new album from one of the UKs finest Jazz Soul outfits. I found to great summers of the past with a feel of the here and now. The tracks are easy to listen to and would compliment any little get together.

P DIDDY – DIRTY MONEY (LOVE COME DOWN)

At first I thought that it was interesting track because the music was a bit different in a good way. But after waiting for it to do something else I found that it let me down by continuing on the same vain with what I can only describe as weak singing.

USHER – PAPERS

When the track started I thought yes Usher back doing Usher. It only took seconds for me to realise that the track had no substance. Usher's voice had no real feeling to it and the music was weak.

R KELLY, T-PAIN & KEISHA COLE – NUMBER ONE (REMIX)

This should have it all I mean it features three good artists it their own right. I am disappointed to say that I found it dragged on a bit. It is the type of track that you can only slow dance too and even then you probably get bored half way through!

BOOKS: Arc Book Club Monthly Recommendations in Conjunction With eCentral

Maxwell Penn – Larceny of The Heart II      (Click on the title to buy book and find out more)

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.  Maxwell enabled me to live a life that was totally foreign to me just with the way he explained what was happening.  I lost myself in the characters so much so that I wanted to physically slap some sense into Duane.

The book is a sequel to ‘Larceny of The Heart’ which I had not read before delving into part 2, but Maxwell explains the story so well that it enabled the ‘Larceny of The Heart II’ to stand out on its own and not confuse me as to who was what and what was going on.

If you want to know why I wanted to slap Duane, do Maxwell the justice that he deserves by going out and buying this book; it is a very good read.  Julie Ann. P.s Looking forward to your next book *smile*

Ayana Ellis - Full Circle

The fact that this book is based on a true story had me excited before I even started reading it.  I was totally engrossed in the life of Carin, so much so that I could not put the book down.

I held my breath on many occasions while reading this book turning each page with anticipation as to what could possibly happen next.  I could not contain my anger in some parts; feeling as if I looking through a window at the scenes before me shouting at the characters but they could not hear.

This is a must have read for women who have not been abuse as well as those that have.  It is a powerful, enpowering, inspiring and thoroughly addictive read. *If affected by abuse you can email Ayana at fullcirclefoundation@gmail.com

Arlene Brathwaite - Paper Trail

Truly a gripping read.  I could not wait to get to this book to find out what had happen to the enigmatic Devon. Arlene's debut 'Youngin' had me unable to put the book down until my eyes gave in.

The story of Brian Moore's struggle with being loyal to the streets that raised him or giving it all up for the love of a woman, was a compelling read: along with the follow up Ol Timer and then Paper Trail. (In-between these three books Arlene also wrote 'In The Cut'

I am looking forward to reading anything that this talent author/business woman writes. Find out more about Arlene and the program linked with Paper Trail by clicking the link below

Steven Van Patten - Brookwaters Curse Vol I+II

Fantastic books.  The storyline had me gripped. Steven Van Patten has made vampires, werewolves and shape shifters  very sexy.  I was totally blown away by the protagonist to the extent where I could not put the books down!

There is Vol I + II but I am GLAD to tell you that there will be at THIRD woop woop.  There is so much to tell about this talent author but not enough space here so please click on the the Steven's website link to find out more about him and buy the books

Kwan - Section 8

I throughly enjoyed reading Section 8. It was an eye opener for someone like me who lives a million miles from the world of Tionna and the rest of the characters within the story.

Having already written over 10 books since he started out, Kwan has manage to maintain a brilliant standard of work all the way through.  And this book is one that is another page turner: I can't wait for more!

E N Joy - Been There Prayed That

Wow! I found that they book was a very interesting read.  E N Joy keeps you on your toes all the way through making sure that she ended each chapter with a cliff hanger that made you want to skip a few pages to get back to the character that you were just reading about.  Confused? let me explain.

If you have no patience or suffer from heart condition then this is not the book for you.  It jumps between the lives of the many characters that are within the storyline so you have to make sure that you keep in your mind what you read in each chapter because it will keep changing to keep you on your toes and intrigued.

I look forward to the other 3 books *smile*

Terry L Wroten - Natural Born Killaz

A new and promising author. I throughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for Terry to write something else.

His style of writing is so real that I was totally sucked into the life of characters within and believed characters such as Klla Black to be real and could even feel empathy for him and some of the things that happened to other gang members.

Natural Born Killaz tells the truth about people that are caught in gang life and hopefully will enlighten those that chose to lead this kind of life!  For those that feel they have no choice I hope that they read 'Natural Born Killaz' and come away with the thought that maybe they can do/be somebody else.

Well done Terry L Wroten *smile*

Chamsil - Load

Chamsil is a versatile writer; the complete creative package. I throughly enjoyed chatting with him on my show, he has a voice that melts.  I also enjoyed reading 'Load'.  I found the stories very titillating and loved the spoken word style that the stories were written in.  Yes it is erotica, no it is not smutty and yes it would sound brilliant as an audio book with Chamsil reading it *big smile*.

Chasil has also written a novel called 'Unbeknownst' which can also find on his website if you click on the link above.  I shall be looking out for more works from this talented writer and wait with baited breath for any audio!

Therone Shellman - Survivor. I Changed The Rules Pt.1

This is Therone's autobiography.  It tells the honest and sometimes brutal reality of his life story and how he survived a life of crime and prison to come out on the otherside stronger and more educated.

Therone also touches on the hardship that authors face while trying to get their work published. A definite read for those that have had a hard start in life and thing that, that is the only thing out there for them.

Lesley E Hal - Pleasure Principles

I have one word to describe this book WOW! I was expecting to read a bit of erotica but came away feeling like a had a full on sexual experience!  Lesley either has a brilliant sex life or a very good imagination; I feel it is a bit of both *smile*.

This book was a throughly good read and I went away from it learning a few tips.  There were a number of twists and turns to keep you turning the page for more.  I look forward to reading anything from Lesley again.

Freddie Simmons - Ghetto Resumn Pt One

Another author with a great speaking voice.  Although I have the book cover for Ghetto Resumn Pt 2 on the homepage on this site I have only read pt1 and felt a little dirty after doing so! Why I hear you ask?  Freddie had my mind in conflict when reading about the main character 'Goldie' who was only a young boy but apparently was hung like a horse; I know I am not the only woman who felt like tis because Freddie told me (thankfully).

This book is part of a trilogy and pt2 can not come into my grasp fast enough.

Keith Kareem  Williams - Water Flows Under Doors

Throughly enjoyed reading Keith's first novel. One to show those unhappy in relationships that the grass is not always greener on the other side. *smile*
